Shaykh Arif Abdulhussein participates in Faith Guiding Course for Central Mosque Birmingham

On 15th May 2017 Shaykh Arif Abdulhussein presents as the main speaker at the Faith Guiding Course presentation ceremony on ‘The relevance of interfaith dialogue in Modern Society’ at Central Mosque Birmingham. The Faith guiding course, organised by

The Faith Encounter Programme trains people of all faiths in the West Midlands as Faith Guides, so that places of worship can offer high quality educational visits.

Shaykh Arif’s talk revolved around the removing of the notion of the ‘other’ in interfaith and religious discussions, by getting rid of the barriers we have constructed between each other, because in effect we are all one & created in the image of God. An important point that was outlined was the aim of religion and how it has been misused in the name of committing wrong. Interfaith dialogue should bring about a sense of humility, tearing away of labels, realising human morals in a very meaningful way, and taking us to the essence of being one – something shared by all religions.
