Research Seminar: ‘Suppression of Ali ibn Abi Talib’s Codex’

On 14th January, Dr Seyfeddin Kara of Durham University presented his research on the topic of  ‘Suppression of Ali ibn Abi Talib’s Codex’. The seminar was attended by AMI students, faculty and many interested members of the public.

Dr Seyfeddin Kara is currently a PhD Student at the School of Government and International Affairs at the University of Durham. After he moved to the UK he obtained a Certificate in International Human Rights Law and Practice from the London School of Economics, University of London.  He pursued Islamic studies at Birkbeck College and worked with the Islamic Human Rights Commission. During his work at the IHRC, he has authored several reports submitted to various UN treaty bodies (CERD, CEDAW and UPR). He has also given expert testimonies at the UK courts on various high profile anti-terrorism cases
