Dr Ali-Reza Bhojani leads workshop at MSC annual Presidential Summit 2016

On the weekend of the 2nd – 4th September 2016 Almahdi Institute hosted the Muslim Student Council for their Annual Presidential Summit. The summit was a chance for Ahlulbayt Islamic Society Presidents from across the UK to come together and share ideas, challenging experiences, a BBQ, all with the aim of shaping and discussing the national strategy of the ABSocs across the country for the coming academic year.

This year they were joined by esteemed guests including AMI’s Dr Ali-Reza Bhojani, Shaykh Jaffer Ladak, and Dr Claudia Colvin; as well as 25 presidents and committee members from 13 different ABSocs across the UK. Dr Alireza Bhojani lead a thought provoking discussion on British Muslim dynamics, in light of teachings from the Qur’an and the Ahlulbayt. He spoke on “Our Faith”, inspiring the participants to think about their place in society as change makers, and how  to use our faith and the Ummah to strive towards teamwork.

Every aspect of the summit is targeted towards building a vision which will shape the year ahead and improve effectiveness as a leader through development of key skills and through the sharing of ideas.
