AMI’s Dr Ali-reza Bhojani contributes to Adult Learning Initiative of Husaini Islamic Centre

From Saturday 4th March, AMI faculty member Dr Ali-reza Bhojani will be leading classes on Usul al-Fiqh and Tafseer of Surat al-Hajj, as part of the Adult Learning Initiative of Husaini Islamic Centre. The course aims to provideĀ a six week module for adults wishing to further their knowledge in Islamic subjects with experienced lecturers. The modules are as follows;
Understanding Shari’a – An Introduction toĀ Usul al-Fiqh
This course aims to give students a deep insight into a discipline that is not only a mechanism through which jurists understand Shari’a, but is also the dominant framework in Shi’i thought for religious understanding per se, and arguably the ‘queen’ of the subjects within traditional Hawza studies.
Tafsir of Surat al-Hajj
This course will entail a close reading and discussion of Surat al-Hajj, Chapter 22. Geared towards encouraging personal and individual reflection on the Quran, the course aims to assist participants to appreciate the direct relevance and openness of the Quran to be understood as a living text
