AMI Hosts Students From The University of Oxford

The Al-Mahdi Institute had the pleasure of hosting students from the Faculty of Oriental Studies at the University of Oxford. The students are currently studying for masters degrees in either Islamic Studies and History or Modern Middle Eastern Studies.
During the visit, the students took part in reading sessions with Shaykh Muhammad Reza Tajri, Dr Ali-Reza Bhojani, and Dr Wahid Amin. Each session aimed to introduce the students to the different kinds of texts which are studied in the hawza and the unique style of teaching which the hawza promotes. AMI’s own students also took part in these sessions and each group of students benefited from the other’s insights into Islamic Studies.
The event, which was organised through the AMI Library, also included a tour of the library and an introduction to the titles it holds. AMI Head Librarian Adam Ramadhan stressed that the library is open to students and researchers from any institution to make use of the valuable resources it holds.
