On Saturday 9th December 2017, AMI hosted an ‘interfaith family fun day’, celebrating Christmas, Hanukah and Milad un Nabi. The event was sponsored by Penny Appeal to raise money for the East Africa Crisis Appeal and was a great success.
The evening aimed at family fun and unity began at 4.30pm with short talks from community leaders on the significance of Christmas, Hanukah and Milad un Nabi, highlighting their importance in each faith and a lesson in unity was shared by celebrating the different traditions together. This was followed by a children’s’ entertainer, face painting, henna, many different fair games and a photoshoot.
The evening was enjoyed by a wide variety of families and individuals from all backgrounds and faiths. It was delightful to see such a positive response to the event which raised over £1500 for the cause.
