Dr Hashim Bata participates in the Royal Society of Edinburgh's workshop on 'Keeping Faith in the 21st Century'

On the 19th - 21st January 2018, Dr Hashim Bata participated in an inter-faith workshop on 'Keeping Faith in the 21st Century' hosted by the Royal Society of Edinburgh and the Alwaleed Centre, held at the University of Edinburgh. The workshop invited a diverse range of academics and scholars from the Abrahamic faiths to discuss the challenges faced by Muslims, Christians and Jews whilst practicing their faiths in the 21st century.

The workshop featured presentations from academics of different faiths with plenty of discussions around current issues in relation to the topic and how these can be resolved. The discussions also allowed participants to gain first-hand insight into the challenges faced by other faith communities and how these are being addressed.

Among the participants were; Revd. Scott Mckenna (Church of Scotland Minister), Rabbi Mark Solomon (Edinburgh & Leicester Liberal Jewish Communities), Dr Amina Inloes (Islamic College, London), Sayyid Fadhil Bahrul Uloom (Centre for Islamic Shi'a Studies) and Dr Iqbal Asaria (Bangor Business School).
